What We Wore: Biking!

I have been dying to wear these shorts that I got at the Mighty Swell Summer Sale, so cute, summery and bright! I adore them, so I just decided to take them for a test run (and a for a few silly pictures), just biking to meet a friend for coffee and a chat.  I wore my new nutcase forest green helmet, yellow vintage shorts and my sheer gray, yellow and turquoise top from a boutique in Spain.
Happy Riding!

What We Wore: Sunshine and Wine

I have been loving these beautiful summer days filled with sunshine, especially when I can be out and about around town in vintage frocks. Alea and I took full advantage of a local Italian place's half price wine this week. It was fun to dress up, go for a walk, drink a bottle of wine that we had never tried before, and catch up on life's happenings. I wore: vintage yellow dress, thrifted leather clutch, vintage leather peep toes,  and my grandmother's gold watch.

What We Wore: In the Navy

Heather and I got together for a day of fun and took a few pictures. We were digging the sailor polka dot and stripe look in navy, white and ochre.
I wore a vintage navy and white polka dot shirt, urban outfitter shorts, woven oxfords and a thrifted red purse. Heather wore a vintage navy and white striped dress, woven flats and a tasseled purse from Morocco.

What We Wore: Spring Cleaning

I went through my closet recently to get out some of my dusty spring and summer clothes. It feels like a life time ago that I wore something without tights or long sleeves. In riffling through I found this top, and remembered how much I loved it. So here is my spring cleaning outfit. Urban outfitters skinny jeans, vintage tooled leather purse, thrifted woven ballet flats, re-purposed vintage blouse and vintage sunglasses from a rummage sale in Portugal.

What We Wore: Fancy Fling

A week ago, Twill and I came upon this amazing little black dress at an estate sale. We both instantly fell in love, and decided to purchase and share it for special occasions. I decided to debut it for dinner at The Heartland. Great dinner, solid advice, and a little dessert to boot!
I wore, black tights, leather ballet flats from Spain, a Vintage black dress with flowers and Anthropologie sun glasses.

What We Wore: Waiting For Spring

Waiting for spring to arrive, I have been getting out some of my bright and colorful clothes that have been gathering dust in the back of my closet. Feeling some March madness of my own, the only cure I could find was to brighten up my day with some color. I wore a vintage floral mumu, thrifted navy belt, Target navy tights and yellow flats from Spain.

What We Wore To The Happenings: Photo Mixing

I had a unique opportunity this past weekend, to add the visual elements to my father's music at his concert. This was a new endeavor for all of us, the band was ambient world music, and I mixed (with a DJ set up mixing board!) photos to create backgrounds and visuals to the music. I was so nervous, having never really shown my photos to an audience before, but in the end, it turned out to be really fun. I wore, gray booties from a consignment shop, gray pencil skirt from Zara, blue tights from a shop in Spain, and a Red coat from the Mighty Swell pop up, courtesy of Two Birds!

What We Wore: In Stitches

It is a good night when you laugh like this. . . we laughed in doors, and went out later to play bar stool match game. I wore a long Zara black t-shirt and leggings, a *sale* dress from Urban Outfitters, a thrifted leather belt, angora hat and cowboy boots, a vintage cashmere cardigan and a silly grin.

What We Wore: Lazy Day

In the winter, when the snow isn't quite fluffy and the temp is nearing zero, I tend to stay close to home. Today I listened to some records and danced (trying to keep my new years goals) and brewed some tea. What have you been listening to lately? I am loving last year's Deerhunter album.
I wore a vintage wrap green checkered skirt, a zara white frilly shirt, dark green tights from a calcetines shop in Spain, and red leather booties from Spain.

What We Wore: Happy Hour Flowers

I threw on a new-to-me frock to go to happy hour with Alex and I have to say, sweater dresses are the best things that have come into my life this winter. It has been cold the last few days in Portland, a dusting of snow sticking in the hills, cold. Nevertheless, the nice thing about our neighborhood is we can still walk everywhere, whatever the weather, which I love. It cancels out all the micro brews right? I wore: vintage floral sweater dress from High Plains Thrifter, thick black tights, JC Penney, metallic red ballet flats, Gap, vintage floral headband from our Teacup Etsy shop.

What We Wore: Winter Wonderland

The snow was falling down just so, perfect for jumping into. . . until. . .  I fell down. What I wore: A vintage plaid cape purchased at the Mighty Swell sale from Bourbon & Lace, Urban Outfitters jeans, Steger Mukluks (the only way to make it through winter), and a North Face top.

The Happenings: Country Life

I am in Wyoming for a week visiting with half of my family, the extremely active half. So we spent the last few days blazing trails through mountains and woods, over rivers and into the most quiet of snow covered hills. It is a stark contrast from my city life. We have been sipping ginger tea, reading books by the fire, getting frustrated with 500 piece puzzles and building snow forts. Reminds me of what it must have been like, a simpler time.

What We Wore: Leap Frog!

Old-school playground games are the best kind of fun. On a walk through the park, Alex decided we should play leap frog. He jumped clear over my head (one of his many talents is jumping super high, surprising hot). I wore: a vintage cotton shirt dress, ruffled navy cropped sweater (Ambiance San Francisco), navy tights (Target), and Minnetonka moccasin booties (I was wearing my favorite brown lace-up leather riding boots, but had to change before our walk because although cute, they were killing my feet).

What We Wore: Sun and Ales

It was sunny with blue skies and 45 degrees here in Portland over the weekend! I have to say I like the winters here much better than in MN, I think all the talk of rain, rain, rain is just an attempt to keep sunny Californians from moving here. If you are coming from the Midwest, it is a piece of cake, with freshly whipped cream on top, and a bowl full of cherries. Fiona, my cat, was enjoying the weather (from inside the house) as well. We have a lovely little window ledge just big enough for furry ones to bask in the sunlight.

I wore: vintage long-sleeved autumn paisley dress, black tights, Target, black braided cotton belt, American Apparel, camel ballet flats, Gap.

In the afternoon we walked to the Holiday Ale Fest downtown. It was our first actual festival since moving here, and Portland has many to choose from. They set up a heated clear tent in the middle of Pioneer Square so you could see the city's architecture and huge lit tree while cozy indoors. The beers had the funniest names (Very Noddy Lager, Lost Glove, Blitzen) and the people were a hoot. I think they were having a "woo-girl" contest to see how many loud "woos" would carry through the crowd. Yes, winter ales have higher alcohol content and you could tell by just looking around, but it made for some very interesting people watching! I also loved the cinnamon sugar crusted roasted pecans from the Nut Lovers stand. I will have to find a recipe for that soon.

Outside, I wore: vintage inspired 3/4 sleeve wool coat, Ambiance San Francisco, camel scarf, thrifted, red mittens, Gap.

What We Wore: Mystery Madness

I went out to see a local favorite of mine, Mystery Palace at the newly re-vamped Varsity Theatre. It was a good time with great friends. A little taxi debacle, a Seekins sighting and lots of laughter. I wore my favorite vintage silky sleeveless floral dress, vintage brown woven boots with cream knit socks and grey-brown tights topped off with an Urban Outfitters cream sweater and a vintage cream coat!

What We Wore To The Happenings.

Tonight was a dear friend's birthday. We went out to Nick and Eddie, a local establishment across Loring park. It was a wintry wonderland for our walk over, so I changed shoes at the last moment. Oh well, these golden booties will have to wait until the thaw.

black urban outfitters dress, vintage silk blouse, thrifted glasses clip with a vintage slide, urban outfitters skinny jeans and shoes from Spain.
