Vintage Icons: Librarians

Librarians. We love them; their intelligence, their glasses, and their ability to catalogue, organize and alphabetize just about anything. I love the classic (albeit incredibly stereotypical) style; high waisted pencil skirts, horn rimmed glasses, button up blouses, cashmere sweaters and the smart, all knowing look. They get my stamp of approval!

VIntage Icon: Norman Norell and Michelle Obama

A friend of mine sent me this Huffington Post article about Michelle Obama wearing vintage Norman Norell. To think this might be the first instant of a First Lady wearing Vintage! I always loved Michelle Obama's taste. Instantly I fell in love with Norell's aesthetic and had to obsess over more of his designs. -Ladybird

What We Wore: Vintage Inspired Halloween Costumes

This year, after watching Grey Gardens, a movie about Jacky O's outrageous cousin, my friend and I decided to dress up as estranged Kennedy family. It was a blast figuring out the outfits, and even better because they were things we already had in our wardrobe!

I wore a green dress with a scoop neck, a fur stole, long leather gloves, a vintage hat, and Italian leather heels.

Vintage Icons: Monroe

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love getting dressed up and transforming into a different persona. In Spain, the options are limited, but with a little creativity we settled on going as Andy Warhol's "Marilyn Monroe."

 

Monroe is such an iconic woman. Her personality, that hair and her no holds barred attitude. As far as vintage icons go, she is a super star and I was glad to walk in her heels for a night.
