Repurposed: Vintage and Thrift Art

I have been really into art that deals with environmentalism or uses recycled objects, and the duo of artists that recently caught my attention are Furra De La Paz. They are a team of Cuban based artist now living in Florida who are working with the concept of the "ready made" (ala Warhol) and how recycled objects from our recent past can be archeological in nature. This concept seems to reflect my love for vintage, that it is looking back at history at a time, and re-telling that story or finding new and interesting uses for old things. These sculptures are beautiful and made out of recycled clothing to boot!
